A good day went like this.
We wake to sunshine, eat Fruit Loops and toast.
We dress for the day and make the beds even. Meet the painter man at Apt #2 and, Ohhh, finally get the last act rolling. Black lacqure for the cabinets will cost $80.00 a gallon! Worth it.
Sweep the basement steps. Leaves have been there for 6 months. Sweep the basement too. Leaves have been blowing in there every time the door opens, for six months. Fill the garbage cans to the top with leftover project bits.
Lunch is Hot Dog sandwiches with sliced strawberries. (Not in the same bite.) GLAMOROUS.
Read stories in Moms' bed. It's raining now.
Nap.
Sun is shinning, sky is blue. Corn is up! Watermelons up! Pull weeds. Pull lots of weeds.
It gets really dark. Wind. Thunder and lightning. Girls run around shrieking and squealing, insist on getting into their jammies and playing 'spooky camp out' with neighbor Branton. (age 4)
Daddy is home before bed time? You better believe it!
Dinner at the dinning table. Set even. Sweet and spicy chicken with scalloped potatoes and green beans. Ice water. Food is consumed by children with minimal whining. Bribed with cookies.
Sun is back. Warm and beautiful. Girls play outside in their jammies while I whip up the promised chocolate chip cookies. (Actually promised to Daddy because he had a rough day, when asked if this would help he says, "YEP!")
Family night. Warm cookies with whole milk. (Oh yes. I did!)
Sunset.
Bedtime.
